Coffee Crazy Society
April 11, 2006
In a country where people are willing to throw $4.00 for your average cup of joe, it is no surprise that almost every kind of concoction has been created, promotion after promotion introduced to keep afloat from the competition. Walk into Starbucks and you’ll find tumblers and mugs representing every major city, event, holiday, and the latest brew.
It is no surprise then to see other industries clawing their hands at the coffee industry.
Take for example the Cup Couture. Ever had the misfortune of accidentally burning your fingers from the extremely hot cup of Americano? Too lazy to grab that cup sleeve, right?
You may now do it in style by way of these colourful (albeit pricey) cup coats in an array of colours and materials.

Cupcoats are the perfect blend of one-of-a-kind vintage and designer fabrics and high-tech engineering. This patent-pending fashion accessory not only looks good but is useful too!
Beneath the surface of these chic coats lie a powerful thermal barrier designed to protect your hands from hot cups. Cupcoats can easily be folded to fit in a purse or pocket, and are designed to fit most 12 oz. (short), 16 oz. (tall), 20 oz. (grande) sized cups.
The computer industry on the other hand thought of a way to integrate your love for caffeine with your spare USB port. Introducing the USB Coffee Warmer with 4 Port USB hub. No power outlet on your desk? No space for a percolator? This is the gadget for you.

USB Coffee Warmer with On/Off Switch, Status LED and 4 Port USB Hub, Keep your Coffee Warm all the time. Nice Desktop gadget.
A perfect combination of 4 port USB hub and Drink Warmer.
Treat yourself a cup of hot coffee, put it on this warmer and you’ll be guaranteed to keep it hot longer than ever before. As a USB hub as well, it adds 4 USB ports for additional peripherals.
I don’t see myself purchasing either of these anytime soon, though. I only drink my coffee cold. But even if I did enjoy mine hot, I’d hate to spend more for my coffee sleeve than for the contents of the cup. As for that warmer? I’ve repaired way too many coffee streaked keyboards in my time to even risk that accident on my desk.
