Converting CSS Layouts to WordPress themes
June 8, 2007
We’ve imported our posts, now we need to import our themes. I’ve searched the Internet and WordPress support forums for the easiest way to go about this but apart from Leon Kilat’s excellent video tutorial on this topic, I have not found any other means to go about this without pulling my hair out.
After several pages of Google search results, I was taken to ThemesPress by accident. The service looked promising, and for $10.00 a pop, it sure beats paying upwards of $50.00 for a decent one from Template Monster.
I test drove it with a CSS template I downloaded years ago and even though the instructions were straightforward, the resulting demo didn’t translate to exactly what I was hoping for. I don’t think that’s ThemesPress’ fault, however. It was, after all, just a test drive and I wasn’t paying attention to half the things I was clicking on.
I foresee the serious need for this service in my immediate future and as such I really need to sit down and figure out how to do it properly. Getting this to work seamlessly will save me so much time and money in the long run.
